Welcome to the Hollingsworth Park Residents for Traditional Neighborhood Development webiste.
We are residents who live in Verdae's Hollingsworth Park development. We believe in the responsible execution of a comprehensive Master Plan that is based on Traditional Neighborhood Development.
Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) is a style of development based on classic, tried-and-true successful neighborhood design elements, including walkability, a gridwork of streets to ease congestion, and a friendly, integrated feel.
The main focus of this website is to educate you, a potential home buyer in Hollingsworth Park, about items that may weigh heavily on your decision to buy or build in Hollingsworth Park.
This website was created because we have many concerns. Most importantly, the lack of a detailed Master Plan is threatening the original vision and the future of Hollingsworth Park.
Our primary concerns focus on 3 main areas:
- The lack of a detailed master plan for the 350 acre Hollingsworth Park development
- The lack of enforcement of architectural authenicity and integrity in the Hollingsworth Park development, most specifically and immediately in the Ruskin Square portion of the development.
- The lack of communication and engagement of the residents of Hollingsworth Park by Verdae Development, Inc. We are the customers who chose to build homes in this development, even during the slow times of the recent econominc downturn. Our views and perspectives should be held in high regard by Verdae Development, Inc., but we feel that we are disregarded.
The key to addressing our concerns and ensuring that they do not recur is re-zoning Hollingsworth Park as a Planned Development (PD), and creating and adopting a detailed Master Plan based on the principles of Traditional Neighborhood Development and New Urbanism. This Master Plan is required to drive the conscientious, focussed, and predictable development of Hollingsworth Park.
